SchoolTool Calendar is a server-based application that manages and shares calendars for people, classes, clubs and resources throughout a school. In the simplest case, you can use SchoolTool to publish your school's calendar, events or sports schedules to the web, making them easily accessible to parents and the community. The calendars can be viewed using a browser interface, printed PDF reports, or by importing data directly into standard desktop applications such as Apple iCal or Mozilla Calendar.

SchoolTool will also help you to use calendars inside your school. You can set up the master schedule for your school, including complex rotating schedules, then import lists of students, teachers and class rosters. Each student, teacher and class section will have a unique calendar. When teachers enter assignments and due dates into a class calendar, those events appear automatically on the calendars of students in that class.

It is important to note that while SchoolTool Calendar has been successfully used in small production deployments, it is not being actively developed. The SchoolTool calendar functionality will continue as part of the much larger and substantially re-designed SchoolTool student information system currently under development. An upgrade path from SchoolTool Calendar to SchoolTool SIS is being maintained.
